** 440ICs beginning with 448001 were boosted in horsepower and were different in ways from the earlier tractors. A higher compression cylinder head and higher RPM (1850 raised to 2000) accounted for the HP increase. There were also ten 440ICs with code F (all fuel engine). No 440Is had an all fuel engine.
